EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
EXPERIENCE: None required.
CERTIFICATE / LICENSE: Must be licensed in the State of South Carolina.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the supervising Physical Therapist and/or Rehab Director.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform the physical job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, as follows:
- Lift 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionally
- Lift 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionally
- Pivot transfer 200lbs occasionally
- Carry up to 20lbs, 200 feet frequently
- Push / pull 75lbs, 200 feet frequently
- Lift up to 10lbs overhead occasionally
- Squat, scoop, kneel up to 15 minutes occasionally
- Kneel and crawl up to 5 minutes continuously
- Fine hand manipulation, bilaterally frequently
- Heavy grasp, bilaterally frequently
- Visual acuity corrected to a level to be able to complete paperwork and perform patient care
- Tactile discrimination
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to perform duties of the position under the working conditions as follows:
- The LPTA will respond to a request for service by relaying information of the referral to the LPT and/or the RD.
- The LPTA will provide Physical Therapy treatment under the direct supervision of the LPT and will treat according to the plan of care written.
- The LPTA will be responsible for communicating to LPT and other members of the rehab team regarding the patient’s condition.
- The LPTA will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of treatment given to the patient.
- The LPTA will be responsible for planning daily schedule according to assigned workload.
- The LPTA will maintain weekly progress notes and follow all documentation guidelines.
- The LPTA will make sure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.
- The LPTA will be responsible for preparing and maintaining work setting, equipment, and supplies.
- The LPTA will maintain a patient load compatible with the work setting and Company standards; as well as maintain a productivity rate of at least 85%; or higher productivity rate as deemed necessary.
- The LPTA may be requested to perform facility requested in-services.
- The LPTA is required to follow all established Policies and Procedures.
- The LPTA is required to submit all employee paperwork to Corporate in a timely manner.
- The LPTA may be requested to travel to other locations to provide therapy services.
