Location: CAPE FEAR VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER

Position Summary:


Assist the pharmacist(s) with filling prescriptions, prescription, patient, and insurance data entry, controlled substance processing, customer questions, cash register duties, inventory and stocking, as well as duties specific to each site to include prescription delivery to patient’s bedside, compliance packaging, and chemotherapy admixture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

One year retail pharmacy experience preferred. Effective communicator that encourages cooperative peer interactions, ability to accept constructive criticism and learn new skills, ability to adjust to varying workloads. Ability to utilize aseptic technique with IV admixtures necessary for employment with Pavilion Pharmacy.

Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
    within 30 days of hire

Preferred Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate Program Pharmacy Technology

Other Information:

Must be able to see and read physician orders and medication labels. Must have manual dexterity necessary for running computer, cash register and processing prescription labeling. Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers. Ability to move freely about pharmacy and health system. May require moderate lifting. Ability to stand, walk, or bend for prolonged periods of time. Has manual dexterity required for IV admixture (Pavilion).
