The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Pharmacy Tech for our Richmond Health Department.

Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, prepares medications under
the direction of a pharmacist.
May measure, mix, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications.
  • Answers telephone, responding to questions or requests
  • Assists internal customers by answering simple questions, locating items
or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
  • Computes charges for medication and equipment dispensed to health
departments
  • Enters medical and demographic data into a computer and assists in
production and preparation of reports (including billing information)
  • Fills bottle with prescribed medications and affixes labels
  • Prices and files prescriptions that have been filled
  • Receives and fills written medication orders from health departments
and verifies information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintains accurate 340B documentation as required
  • Maintains complete inventory of all medications located in pharmacy
  • Collects annual inventory from each county health department and
provides to supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned as determined by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications

Pharm Tech 2: High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience
working in a pharmacy.

Pharm Tech 3: High school diploma of GED AND Three years of experience
working in a pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with and knowledge of 340B requirements preferred

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
