JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with exceptional client service and HR experience. The People & Culture Business Partner will support FIRST by focusing on enhancing employee engagement and implementing our people priorities in our Solutions business lane. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication skills, be able to interact with all levels within an organization and have prior experience in implementing and optimizing people programs and processes, as well as identify and drive relevant solutions aligned with labor relations, people policies and processes. As part of a collaborative People & Culture team, the P&C Business Partner will provide Human Resources expertise and knowledge to support and improve business strategies and initiatives, ensuring consistency in employment practices and the employee experience throughout FIRST. This position will report to the Chief People Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the business leaders to develop the teams needed to support the tremendous growth and build out a work environment where employees can grow and succeed.
- Work with the Chief People Officer and wider People & Culture team to keep the right focus on assessing the needs in areas such as performance management, talent acquisition, diversity, and learning and development.
- Drive and support efforts to increase employee engagement and formulate action plans in conjunction with management.
- Partner with the business to implement organizational changes, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.
- Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions, and job leveling.
- Oversee specific HR legal and compliance efforts including but not limited to audits, best practices, employment classifications, and required business changes due to updated local and federal laws
- Work with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.
- Liaise and take advice as appropriate from legal advisors.
- Coach managers through performance management issues and opportunities
- Work with the wider People & Culture team to create initiatives that will embed our core values throughout the business
- Work collaboratively with the Learning & Development to identify and create appropriate development
- Support diversity initiatives in partnership with the People & Culture team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 – 6+ years’ Human Resources Generalist experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience in Hospitality industry preferred
- Experience working with Labor Unions preferred
- Familiarity with HR systems preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills for the purpose of working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and potentially external clients/vendors
- Self-starter who is able to influence at a senior level
- Resilient and resourceful with a can-do attitude
- Great judgment and the ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment
- Strong relationship builder with flexibility in working style and a collaborative approach to working with others
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize heavy workloads, manage expectations and maintain attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines
- Highly motivated, able to work independently and exhibit strong work ethic
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate and maintain high ethical standards
