Overview:
The Peer Mentor will assist in mentoring Lifelink Bridge students and provide support with recruiting potential Lifelink Bridge students. The Peer Mentor will also be a liaison between Lifelink and partnership schools.

Reports to: Program Director, BRONX LIFELINK

Location:
2471 Morris Avenue 2nd Fl, Bronx, New York 10468

Hours:
Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt

Major Duties:
  • Provide outreach to students as needed by Lifelink and Bronx Bridges
  • Meet with Bridge students to discuss and provide guidance with transitioning into
  • Assist in recruiting events which may include visiting GSS high school programs to speak to potential students.
  • Help with presenting social/academic workshops for Bridge students.
  • Shadow Lifelink Tutors to learn effective ways of providing academic support to students.
  • Ensure spreadsheets that are college related are up to date for College Access and College Success and Transition Counselors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Current college student in good academic standing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
