- Travel throughout Monmouth and Middlesex County

- Applicant must have recently aged out of the Division of Child Protection and Permanency
- Applicant must have life experience being in foster care within their personal childhood
Job Description/Summary
The Peer Advocate will utilize their recently “lived experience” in the foster care system to engage and motivate all program participants. Recently aged out of the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and been in foster care in their personal childhood. The Peer Advocate will assist with transportation to and from program related activities, they will coordinate with the case managers and program supervisor and provide mentorship and assistance to all program participants.

Essential Job Function
- Maintains individual caseload of 16 clients.
- Monitors clients and maintains progress reports on attendance, and goal achievement.
- Makes home visits, assists assigned clients with obtaining housing and securing their housing voucher.
- Contributes to program development and planning.
- Covers program activities, as needed.
- Is active in team meetings, asks for clarification, asks questions, shares option, and informs.
- Able to express personal feelings, issues relating to clients which may affect relationship with consumers, i.e. counter-transference.
- Takes initiative in reporting to supervisor or team relevant issues regarding consumers.
- Dependability - Instills full confidence.

Qualifications
- Years' Experience - Lived experience in the foster care system
- Recently aged out of the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and been in foster care in their personal childhood experience.
- License(s) - Driver's License
- Driver's License in good standing
