PAYROLL CLERK
Job description
We seek an eager and motivated Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in payroll processing and a strong understanding of prevailing wages. They must be familiar with Payroll compliance, ensure that employees are paid accurately, and follow local and state regulations. Payroll Clerks must also maintain accurate employee wages and deductions records and ensure that pay stubs are distributed to employees. Furthermore, they must be able to generate and submit certified payroll reports and stay abreast of changes to payroll laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect 60-90 timecards and calculate employee wages and deductions.
- Process weekly payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare and maintain payroll records.
- Ensure payroll taxes and other deductions are accurately processed.
- Reconcile payroll data to the general ledger.
- Respond to inquiries from employees about payroll-related issues.
- Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Assist with payroll-related duties, such as benefits administration and onboarding new hires.
- Maintain knowledge of prevailing wage laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employees and other departments.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and other stakeholders.
- Remain up to date with payroll best practices, trends, and processes.
- The ideal candidate should have a passion for Numbers and a desire to learn and grow and Respect the confidentiality of employee information.
Other Responsibilities include: -Developing and implementing strategies to increase efficiency and effectiveness -Providing excellent customer service -Maintaining professionalism and integrity -Analyzing data and providing reports -Collaborating with other departments to ensure successful operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred
- 3-5+ years of Payroll experience

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
