Primary Care Plus has an immediate Front Office Assistant opening at our Beckley, WV location!

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for reception, secretarial, and general office support for the clinic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checks in patients, makes charts and answers questions patients may have.
  • Enters patient information into Clockwise.
  • Communicates with physician and nurse regarding patient workload.
  • Answers telephone in a professional manner directing calls as appropriate.
  • Verifies and balances cash drawer, charges and payments posted to computer with end of day sheets.
  • Interacts with contracted companies in a professional manner.
  • Provides general support to both physician and nurse as needed.
  • Makes sure all patient information is correct as provided on the patient’s demographic sheet.
  • Make sure patients insurance information is correct and up to date.
  • Verify insurances.
  • Collect co-pays from patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

The job qualifications for this position are as follows:

  • Vocational training as clinical receptionist;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a clinical receptionist;
  • Excellent telephone voice and professional demeanor;
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good computer skills (word-processing, database management, spreadsheet);
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written); and
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Job performed in a well-lighted, modern office setting.
  • Occasional travel locally
  • Occasional lifting/carrying (10 pounds or less)
  • Occasional standing/bending
  • Moderate to high stress level
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Prolonged computer/PC work
  • Prolonged telephone use

This position may require manual dexterity and/or frequent use of the computer, telephone, 10-key, calculator, office machines (copier, scanner, fax) and/or the ability to perform repetitive motions and/or meet production standards to comply with the essential functions. Also, may require physical and/or mental stamina to work overtime, additional hours beyond a regular schedule and/or more than five days per week.
