Job description

PURPOSE OF PATIENT REGISTRAR: Complete an accurate patient registration for inpatient in the Emergency Department and other hospital services. They will manage the inpatient bed assignment process for all admitted patients in order to facilitate optimal patient throughput and flow.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PATIENT REGISTRAR:

Education: High School or equivalent is required

Experience: Hospital/Insurance experience is required

Other Skills:

-Excellent Customer Service Skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE PATIENT REGISTRAR:

1. Identify the correct patient for requested services using 2 patient identifiers. If patient is pre registered, select appropriate patient account.

2. Complete an accurate registration for inpatient or other requested services; maintaining A RQA quality score at or above minimum standard set

3. Make inpatient bed assignments using established protocols; facilitate optimal patient placement and throughput

4. Verify patient’s insurance eligibility and benefits at the time of service; secure or verify authorization for services as required.

5. Complete all required forms and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overnight shift
• Weekend availability
