SCHEDULE:
Full-Time, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Wednesdays OFF)
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for administering the day-to-day activities of the business office, including: welcoming of patients, answering phone calls, scheduling of appointments, and maintaining patient records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- First point of contact when answering phone calls. Address patient requests, concerns and needs in a professional and friendly manner.
- Triage decisions, issues, complaints, requests and forward to Practice Manager when they are not in office.
- Discuss treatment plans, insurance coverage and patient balances with patients.
- Determine what patients will owe in co-pays, deductibles, and other expenses prior to next appointment properly and type document in notes.
- Accept and properly record payments made at time of service, via mail and telephone.
- Present payment options to patients and make necessary arrangements according to the practice protocol.
- Monitor the schedule daily and schedule appointments in consideration of production and capacity.
- Manage the Doctor and hygiene schedules to achieve utilization goals through efficient use of appointment time. Verify all hygiene patients are scheduled for follow up appointment at the completion of their hygiene appointment.
- Work on continuing care and overdue treatment lists and contact entered preauthorization for treatment patients. Scheduling patients in a timely manner once the preauthorization comes back from insurance.
- Ensuring all necessary radiographs, lab cases, paperwork and other needed information is updated and complete prior to patient's appointment.
- Verify that medical clearances are received if needed prior to appointments.
- Send requested records from patients and update the patient file.
- Check in lab cases and document appointments with information.
- Assist Team Lead with other administration assignments as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned
LOCATION: Multiple Locations - Brier Creek is Main Location - however, there is the occasional need to cover at our other locations (Cary, Holly Springs, and Wake Forest)
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
6 months' experience working in the medical/dental field, preferred
Oral Surgery or Periodontal experience, preferred
