Job description

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra seeks a lighting generalist to support the daily operations of the technical team at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. This individual will provide technical and production support with a heavy emphasis on lighting and production for arts and cultural events. This individual will also provide support for the audio technicians as needed.

The Part-time Lighting Technician will learn, operate and assist in maintaining the performance hall and lobby lighting systems; provide technical support for rental events; aid in the execution of load-in and strike for rental events; and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in technical theater operations or related electronic technology. This position requires knowledge of audio and lighting equipment; familiarity with theater practices, equipment, rigging, and facilities; ability to work at heights up to 80 feet and lift 50 pounds. Also required is the ability to work various hours, including holidays, weekends and evenings. This is a part-time position and will work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
