The Town of Wellesley’s Facilities Maintenance Department (FMD) is one of the foremost public facilities organizations in Massachusetts. We maintain and operate twenty-eight (28) Town buildings totaling over 1.2 million square feet with a staff of 66 and an operating budget of over $7 million, plus a $1.75M major capital projects budget. This department currently has a job opportunity for a full-time custodial position. The Town seeks outstanding candidates who are hard-working, ambitious, and committed to working in a team environment.

The FMD is currently looking for a 15 hour/week custodian at the Wellesley Free Library. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, responsibilities include opening the building, cleaning tasks; assisting with regular and periodic maintenance; cleaning windows and sidewalks; event set up and break down; and shoveling snow. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision; ability to lift and/or move up to 100lbs.; manual dexterity; and demonstrated initiative in recognizing needed tasks within sphere of responsibility.
