Job description

We are looking for vehicle technicians to work on the final assembly line, fitting the body to its required specifications. This position is located in Austin, TX, in our GFTX BIW area. He/she must have the ability to work with various teams in assembly including engineering, quality, and suppliers across a wide variety of issues/ corrective actions identified in production and field performance.

Responsibilities

· Apply automotive body fit techniques

· Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles

· Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand power tools, shop tools, and automotive and electrical test equipment

· Performs work in the inspection, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles

· Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools

· Perform equipment inspections, adjustments and certification

· Maintain records of time and materials

· Order shop supplies and parts

· Perform other related duties as assigned

· Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand power tools, shop tools, and automotive and electrical test equipment

Requirements

· Ability to adapt and become proficient in automotive techniques related to body fit

· Experience with a variety of hand, power, and shop tools

· Ability to apply spatial reasoning and problem-solving to both multiple and unique body fit problems

· Understanding CVIS (spec standards for all vehicles)

· Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting

· Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

· Work in a team-based environment and achieve common goals

· Attention to detail

· High School Diploma

Preferred Skills:

· Prior body fit experience

· Prior experience with the methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles

· Associate Degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology
