Expanding pain management group looking for outstanding candidate(s) to support and grow our billing and medical enterprise.

Position Description

We're seeking an energetic part-time Medical Billing, Coding and Credentialing Specialist to maximize clinic revenue through accurate patient and insurance billing and customer services. We use Athena as our EMR.

We're looking for highly developed computer skills, good time management skills, ability to complete projects with minimal supervision, careful attention to detail, dedication to team work, superior written and verbal communication skills, and outstanding references. The work entails insurance billing, researching insurance claims, posting, and contacting insurance companies regarding coverages and payments. We very much appreciate employees taking the initiative to develop procedures, to find new and better ways to accomplish goals, and to work systematically.

Core Responsibilities

• Adherence to HIPAA regulations, medical law, and ethics regarding billing;
• Submits insurance claims electronically and on paper;
• Enters, verifies, and reviews client information, EOB, and other billing data;
• Assists with denials and aged accounts promptly;
• Calls clients and insurers about denials, or payment problems;
• Posts payments accurately;
• Uses reports and KPIs to improve billing efficiency and effectiveness;
• Reviews billing policies, practices, and procedures to improve profitability and efficiency;
• Helps to identify and prevent financial risks and fraud;
• Other duties as needed
• Work directly with patients and insurance companies to bill and obtain payment for healthcare services rendered;
• Prepare charge batches for electronic transmission to third-party payers;
• Compile, compute, and record billing;
• Reconcile and post payments in patients’ account;
• Credentialing and updating credentialing status for providers.

Knowledge, Technical and Soft Skills:

• Solid understanding of insurance principles, terminology and regulations that affect healthcare billing and coding;
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding;
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and other government insurance programs;
• Comprehensive skills in client and insurance billing, invoicing, and insurance claim processing;
• Flexible knowledge of billing programs and functions, Excel spreadsheets, and other computer programs for office management;
• Solid verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate professionally with staff, clients, and insurance companies;
• Critical thinking skills and ability to research and resolve financial problems;
• Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work;
• Must be: intelligent, responsible mature, diplomatic, disciplined, and accurate.

Requirements

• High School graduate
• 2 years experience and certificate of completed healthcare/billing experience

Preferred Requirements

• Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in relevant field
• Leadership qualities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.34 - $22.82 per hour
