Description
GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for the development of all packaging designs, specifications, processes, and materials for the OTC business. Works with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop new designs and modifications to OTC packaging.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Packaging Specifications. Work with customers, packagers, and suppliers to design and develop new product launches. Utilize TOPS palletization software to generate shipper and pallet configurations. Review and approve the shipper labels and any other necessary documentation for the production and packaging of Granules Consumer Health products. Coordinates with Quality Assurance to keep track of USP test data reports for bottles and caps. Request for finished good SAP # and component # to be included on artworks. Generate customer packaging specifications and packaging component specifications to contract packaging sites, reviewing with them to ensure accurate results.
Documentation Management. Communicates with suppliers of packaging materials to get all necessary information for FDA filings (i.e. DMF letters, LOAs, technical data sheets, COC/COA, test results, etc.). Prepares change controls to document product launches with new or existing customers, CBE30 initiations, and inefficient packaging processes to improve on. Maintains master container-closure index to ensure
Reports & Meetings. Provides inventory summary reports on Finished Good inventory and open POs at warehouse on a weekly basis. Prepares monthly inventory analysis reports to keep track of materials at contract packaging sites and to highlight the areas requiring attention. Create inventory summary report slide for Commercial meeting’s showing the open PO’s in the next 2-3 weeks and if PO’s can be met
Costing and Bid Analysis. Prepares costing sheets during the bidding process with customers. Prepares packaging and component costs and quotations at current and alternative contract packaging sites. Prepared mockup samples to share with customers. Updates market research database to keep track of bids volumes in the market.
Other. Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.

Requirements
Level of Education (specify level and major; Example: B.S. in Chemistry)
BS in Packaging Science, Material Science, or related engineering degree with equivalent packaging experience
Level of Experience (specify type and length; Example: 1-2 years' supervisory experience)
1-3 years of packaging experience in consumer products industries
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Example: Familiarity with spreadsheet applications such as Lotus 1-2-3 and/or Quattro Pro)
Most important skills:
1. Excellent Excel skills
2. Proficiency in TOPS palletization program
3. Ability to identify, analyze and solve operating/packaging issues
4. Outstanding ability to manage details, to manage multiple tasks and small projects simultaneously, and to work independently to meet deadlines.
