Job description

The Turner Company is seeking a detailed person that likes to work outside and enjoys working in a team environment to join our Shipping Department.

• Work with Dispatch to confirm that product has been made and is ready to ship
• Work with Production to check product status on “Specialty Items” to make sure they will be ready by ship date
• Verify all outgoing loads – makes sure the load matches the load ticket. If the load does not match, work to get the correct product on the truck
• Inspect all product on the truck to make sure it is in good repair
• Verify incoming loads and document reason for return. Make sure that the product is returned to the correct area of the yard
• Maintains files: shipped loads, returned loads and Forklift Pre-Op Inspections ·
• Other duties as assigned:

Physical requirements:

• Work requires alert individuals with good balance, sight and hearing
• Frequently lifting, climbing on flat bed trucks, carrying, pushing up to 50 pounds of materiel and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested
• Frequently walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, bending and climbing

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and hearing test.
• Must wear the required PPE/ steel-toe boots
• Good attendance and a positive attitude
• Working during inclement weather, could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations
• Bi-lingual is a plus!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
