Job description
Job Summary:
3D Systems, through the 2021 announced acquisition of Volumetric, is expanding our collaborative bioprinting program to leverage progress made on the bioprinting of lung scaffolds for application across human kidney and liver scaffolds. We are seeking Organ Biologists for Cell Production & R&D that will operate out of our collaborator’s site in Manchester, NH.
The Organ Biologist, Cell Production & R&D (3DS) will lead efforts in developing and implementing robust process methods for the differentiation of iPS-derived cells into kidney or liver cell types for development of autologous 3D printed tissue engineered kidneys and livers. The incumbent will also be tasked with primary cell isolation and expansion of various kidney or liver cell types from human tissue in support of cellularization efforts.
We seek candidates who can apply their experience, analysis, and creative thinking to solve new, cutting-edge problems in regenerative medicine.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of robust process methods for the production and characterization of primary and/or iPS-derived cells for tissue engineering of human kidneys or livers
- Contribute to the production and characterization efforts to provide sufficient cells (primary and iPS derived) for R&D cellularization efforts of 3D printed scaffolds
- Contribute to academic and industry collaborations and facilitate tech transfer activities from outside collaborators to internal laboratory
- Contribute to the development and implementation of analytic methods to characterize quality and suitability of iPS-derived cells for generation of 3D printed organs
- Design and execute laboratory experiments that lead to the successful achievement of program objectives
