Requirements:Responsible for operating the Innovation Center’s equipment in support of development efforts. Closely aligned with this is to interface with the Product Development Engineers and gain an understanding of the needs for product development. Performs other duties as required to promote overall effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Educational/Work Background:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a minimum of 2 plus years experience in film extrusion methods and using extrusion equipment is required

Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to understand and interpret process settings and center lines.
- Ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to learn and become proficient with FIRM, ADP, and other database and tracking software.
- Ability to read/interpret Fitesa product codes, production schedules, and operations documents.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities.
- Ability to apply basic math skills.
- Ability to read and interpret measurements in standard and metric systems.
- Statistical analysis skills with the ability to audit against goals.
Key Responsibilities (What/How):
- Operate all aspects of equipment safely and properly
- Assist in the instructions and training of new operators
- Meet with engineers to plan runs
- Analyze problems on equipment and devise a solution
- Attend safety meetings, prepare reports as necessary
- Assist with daily support functions of the technical center
- Perform other duties as required to promote overall effectiveness and customer satisfaction
Quality:
- Inspects raw material for contamination and ensures quality before feeding into co-extruder.
- Ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
- Maintain work area to OLA/5S standards.
- Focus on continuous improvement and problem solving.
Safety:
- Follow all Terre Haute Site Safety rules.
- Execute log out tag out procedures as necessary.
- Maintain work area to 5S (OLA) standards.
- Complete all assigned safety training – initial and ongoing.
- Wear proper PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and any other designated PPE for individual tasks indicated in work instructions.
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
