What you will do

The Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of safety, quality, service, and cost for their area(s) while partnering with other supporting functions to deliver long term strategies that deliver business excellence into the future. You will engage and inspire their team in the manufacture of Hip and Knee implants, utilizing manual, semi-automated and automated equipment across a 7-day week operation.

Additional responsibilities

  • Ensure a consistently high level of Quality and compliance to applicable regulatory requirements
  • Provide strategic direction to multiple teams across 7 day work week to meet their daily production goals and milestones
  • Engage in problem solving in complex situations and process improvements in streamlining work processes
  • Manage the performance of team members including writing and delivering performance appraisals and taking disciplinary actions when warranted
  • Support their team in the documentation of Individual Development Plans, ensuring each member has an annual plan on their career and personal development
  • Own and deliver their business units monthly budget, managing costs to ensure operating income is to projection
  • Manage day to day supply commitments
  • Conduct interviews, hire and onboard employees while managing cell headcount
  • Provide developmental opportunities & guidance for direct reports and ensures cross training where required
  • Coach cell team in work scheduling/ planning, peer appraisals, and team interviewing.

What you need -

  • Bachelor’s degree required; highly preferred in Operations, Engineering or a manufacturing/technology related discipline
  • 8+ years' of work experience required
  • 3+ years’ experience managing and leading people, preferably within a focused-factory environment required
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve exceptional results in Quality and Regulatory Compliance required
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with a high problem solving and process improvement orientation required
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to teach and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds with varying language and technical skills required
  • Experience leading project teams and using project management tools - highly preferred
  • Demonstrated computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of planning systems/approaches and measurement tools - highly preferred
