THE ROLE
Impact Museums is seeking an On-Site Technician Contractor in the Dallas area. The On-Site Technician’s primary responsibilities will include maintenance of the audio visual equipment to enhance and maintain the integrity of the show for our guests. The contract will be budgeted to 32 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support:
- Provide technical consultation on technical production for day-to-day operations and special events.
- Provide technical support to ensure System is working as intended. The System consists of power distribution, media servers, network matrix, Medialon, CueServer, iMac show director, audio equipment, lighting equipment, video equipment, time code, and uninterrupted power supply.
- Provide remote technical support to venue staff when not on site.
- Provide guidance and assist remote technicians to troubleshoot and service the System via remote access. This may include setup of PTZ camera, camera control, and audio interface.
- Provide consultation in training venue staff on System controls and troubleshooting per the technical manual.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Provide weekly maintenance on server room equipment and System, production fixtures and projectors.
- Assist with quality control and conduct projector blending as needed.
- Blending on a quarterly basis; minimum four (4) times per calendar year
- Report to General Manager on necessary repairs and recommend appropriate scheduling on needed repairs in house or with preferred vendors.
Documentation:
- Consult with GM in editing and updating of technical manual on an as needed basis.
- Create recommendations for a projector maintenance rotation schedule ensuring that each projector gets maintained at minimum once a month.
- Recommend general maintenance or repairs as it relates to production equipment according to manufacturer’s standards.

- This is an indpendent contractor opportunity with possibility of extension to permanent hire
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The role is on-site in Dallas, TX
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down stairs
- Ability to wear and utilize a radio and earpiece
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
