Job Description
PaleoWest is seeking Archaeological Field Technicians for upcoming projects in San Diego, Riverside, Imperial, and San Bernardino counties, California. This position will be report to our San Diego, CA office. Archaeological Field Technicians will assist Project Teams in completing archaeological surveys, construction monitoring, and other fieldwork. The ideal candidate(s) should be available to work full-time on as as-needed basis. Per diem allowance follows the PaleoWest Employee Handbook guidance and would be applicable for all non-local work assignments.
Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field is required
- Must have attended at least one accredited archaeological field school or have demonstrated equivalent archaeological experience in California
- Ability to endure adverse environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, precipitation, and challenging terrain for sustained durations
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations
- Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a positive work ethic, reliability, responsiveness, and commitment to working both independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with Collector, FileMaker Pro, or ArcGIS a plus
- Current valid driver’s license
