Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides care under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist for patients that are acutely ill or have medical needs which result in mobility and activities of daily living deficits. Monitors the effectiveness of the treatment plan, and recommends needed changes. Serves as a liaison between the patient and the interdisciplinary team and provides timely, safe, and cost effective therapy. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant may treat patients in either the in-patient or the out-patient setting.

What qualifications you will need:

Minimum Education: Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Required Licensure: Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas

Required Certification: Current BLS required

Skills: Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and is competent in the practice of occupational therapy. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with administrative staff as well as patients and families, in an assertive, professional manner.
