Responsibilities and Duties:

• Set up O.D and I.D. grinding machine, changing wheels, and offsets and setting work offsets.
• Operate grinding equipment to produce part according to customer orders.
• Set up and operate Mill machine.
• Inspect parts to ensure they are made within print specifications.
• Prioritize work orders for timely completion to accommodate customer needs.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, troubleshoot malfunctions.

Qualifications and Skills:

Willing to train individual who has the following knowledge:

• Knowledge in ID, OD, steps and shoulders.
• Experience operating a Toyoda Horizontal manual OD Cylindrical Grinder a plus
• Experience operating a Springfield Vertical OD/ID grinder a plus
• Strong Mechanical ability.
• Ability to set-up grinder
• Able to set-up truing devices.
• Choose proper speeds and feeds and wheels.
• Able to hold tight tolerances.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Use of Steady Rest a plus.
• Able to use O.D/I.D. micrometers, close tolerances and surface finishes.
• Familiar with metal grinding O.D. materials such as 1045 steel, heat treated steel, hard chrome platinum.
