Education: Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree with equivalent experience preferred.

License/Certifications: AHA Training Coordinator Certification preferred

Experience: 5 years of healthcare experience preferred

Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS and State of Maine regarding Education and Competency requirements preferred. Experience with Learning Management Systems, Microsoft office preferred.

Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for the daily coordination of nursing new hire onboarding, student placement, clinical education, and training for Southern Maine Health Care Nursing Department employees. The health care force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, clinically-effective, coordinated care.
To do these things successfully, the workforce must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to healthcare delivery and technology changes. The Nursing Education Coordinator serves a central role in onboarding and delivery of education in coordination with The Nursing Education Team ensuring that the transition to clinical practice are filled with qualified personnel, monitoring current staff qualifications, and preparing and coordinating orientation schedules, access, student placement.
