Current openings at St. Benedict’s Community in Monticello:

• Full-time days: 69.75 hours per two weeks; day shift of 6:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Part-time days: 46.5 hours per two weeks; day shift 6:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Full-time evenings: 67.5 hours per two weeks; 2:45 p.m. - 10:45 p.m. with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Part-time evenings: 37.5 hours per two weeks; 2:45 p.m. - 10:45 p.m. with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Part-time evenings: 24 hours per two weeks; 6:30pm-10:30pm with every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Part-time nights: 48 hours per two weeks, 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Upcoming courses start on:

• January 18th in Willmar
• January 26th in Melrose (afternoons and weekends)
• January 27th in St. Cloud

Training Details:

• Training includes a mix of days on-site and from home
• Roughly 32 hours of computer modules, prior to proctored exams
• Proctored exams: two in-person exams taken on the same day
• Skills: three various days of skill training 8am-4:30pm
• Clinicals: two various days 8am-4:30pm
• State Exam: must be completed after training
• Permanent position after certification is completed

Here are some ways you’ll serve those we care for:

• Interact with them to promote comfort, and express compassion and empathy
• Assist with ADLs (activities of daily living) – these are things we often take for granted that patients may be unable to, or need help doing, themselves. ADLs include bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, feeding and more.
• Walking – It’s one of the most important things we can do for them- and you get to help them do it safely
• Critical monitoring, like measuring blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiratory rate– so we can better assess their health

Position Requirements:

• No experience is necessary; just a desire to help others
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively with patient and/or patient families, personnel, medical staff and general public
• Nursing Assistant Certified listed on the MN State Nursing Assistant Registry
• Ages 16+ may apply

Pay Details:

• $16.73 per hour starting rate with no experience.
• Option of $1,500 sign-on bonus with year commitment
• Shift differentials, depending on hours worked

Sign-on bonus requirements : To be eligible for the sign-on bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full time or part time benefited position. Previous CentraCare/Carris employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.
