Paragon Foods (a part of the Sysco family!) is the premier distributor of fresh foods to the restaurant and food-service industry in Western Pennsylvania. We operate out of a state-of-the-art food distribution facility located in Warrendale, PA.

Paragon Foods is looking for Non-CDL Produce Delivery Drivers to deliver top quality produce and other food products to restaurants, schools, and other facilities.

Job Summary

The Non-CDL Produce Delivery Driver position is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering and unloading products. Maintaining on-time performance, interacting professionally with customers, and following all applicable regulations and safety practices are keys to success in this position.

Essential Functions

• Drive company vehicle safely on specified route(s) while adhering to Federal and State driving regulations.
• Meet delivery deadlines and weekly standards for productivity and accuracy.
• Break down pallets, unload product from truck, and maneuver into customer storage areas.
• Display professional behavior and provide excellent customer service.
• Adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
• Maintain all certifications required by the DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to outside environmental conditions while driving, loading or unloading product.
• Occasional exposure to refrigerated warehouse environment where temperatures are between 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit. Noise levels can be loud.
• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in all environments.
• Primarily a combination of sitting and standing work, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and 70 lbs. of force occasionally.
• Frequently required to stand, turn, stoop, kneel, climb, balance or bend.
• Travel is primarily local although some out-of-area deliveries may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License - Class C, and medical card/certificate and a safe driving record.
• Six (6) months of professional/commercial driving experience with ability to drive automatic transmission.
• Able to understand basic correspondence, instructions, rules, policies, graphs, and/or charts.
• Able to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences throughout the organization and externally.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic to complete job tasks.

Expected Schedule

• Start time varies between 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
• Shifts vary between 8-12 hours long, depending on route.
• 5 days/week, currently with Sunday and Wednesday as days off.

All Drivers who complete their first day of work between 10/1/2022 and 12/31/2022, are eligible to receive a $3,750.00 sign on bonus, minus all applicable taxes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.56 per hour
