Colton House Hotel is a beautiful 80-room upscale boutique hotel located on South Congress near the heart of SOCO. We are looking for a Night Auditor who understands hospitality and knows how to create a memorable guest service experience with each visit.

The Night Auditor oversees the Front Desk during the overnight shift of 11pm-7am. This is a part time position working approximately 25 hours a week, and could lead to full time hours. Availability to cover a night shift or two between the hours of 3pm-11pm is also a possibility depending on the needs of our hotel. Effective communication, rigorous attention to detail, dependability, diplomacy, hotel, and PMS experience are required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Audit and correct all guest charges and postings for the day
  • Reconciling daily sales activity and closing accounts in preparation for the next day - credit card transactions, financial records, occupancy percentages, room charges, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute daily financial reports
  • Perform additional bookkeeping, administrative, and accounting procedures as instructed
  • Audit guest accounts to ensure that room rate and coding is correct and consistent
  • Audit guest accounts to ensure that postings to these accounts are in accordance with the sales contract
  • Run additional reports as instructed by GM or Team Revenue
  • Provide upscale guest service experiences for clients throughout their stay
  • Ensure clients are properly greeted upon their arrival
  • Oversee late check-in and check-out procedures, including reservations and financial transactions
  • Promptly address guest requests like running ice up to their room, irons, or any other amenity, or assisting with a tv issue
  • Ensure special guests, like disabled people, elderly, children and VIPs, receive personalized services
  • Coordinate and manage communication between guests and staff and follow up to ensure we resolve customer concerns
  • Analyze customer feedback from hotel guestbook and online reviews and suggest ways to improve ratings
  • Liaise with all departments to provide an overall comfortable guest experience
  • Communicate regularly with overnight security via radio to ensure guest and employee safety
  • Liaise with Overnight Security for check in every hour during each shift
  • Concierge – stay updated on local tourist spots, including places to dine, shop, local sight-seeing, events, hair salons/barber shops, spas, etc. in order to make quality recommendations
  • Establish friendly relationships with regular and/or long-term hotel clients
  • Show up to work on time and notify the FD Manager or Asst. General Manager if running late or calling out
  • Other duties assigned as-needed

Job Requirements/Skills/Qualifications

  • One year experience as a Night Auditor, Guest Service Agent, or similar role is required
  • Understanding of hotel Night Auditor and Guest Service Agent best practices and relevant laws
  • Hands-on experience with Hotel PMS software, preferably Hotelo, Opera, OnCue, or any other web-based PMS
  • Light bookkeeping or basic accounting experience is required
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Customer service drive with outstanding communication and active listening skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with others in a team setting
  • Weekend availability is required and holidays as-needed
  • Strong sense of responsibility and a professional demeanor
  • High School diploma/ GED or higher
