Summary
Mission Technologies, a Division of HII is seeking a hardware engineer to support Modeling, Simulation and Training at the Virtual Test and Training Center (VTTC), Nellis AFB, NV. The individual’s primary responsibility will center on designing, testing, and analyzing hardware configuration that will be running NAVAIR’s Next Generation Threat System (NGTS). NGTS is a product that provides constructive entities to the battlespace simulation. NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development.
What you will do
Designing, configuring, and maintaining hardware for an advanced synthetic training environment. This hardware will integrate into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Performs hardware analysis and reverse engineering of DoD assets.
- Tests hardware to ensure performance tuning, improvement, balancing, and usability.
- Creates and updates documentation for hardware system components, capabilities, and features.
- Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements.
What you must have
- BS in Computer Engineering. Degrees in Engineering, Math, and Physics may qualify with at least 1 year of practical experience.
- Three (3) years of practical experience in hardware engineering preferably associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains.
- Able to successfully manage competing tasks and priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred: Bonus points for...
- Experience contributing to the system design or architecture of new and current systems.
- Experience with modifying hardware to perform non-intended task.
- Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) efforts.
Physical Requirements
Position requires typical office work, on-site at Government facility.
