NETWORK SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

This position is primarily responsible for providing network and systems support as required including diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, providing end-user technical support of both hardware and software, provide technology training on various software applications, and provide network troubleshooting and remediation.

Responsibilities

Provide end-user support for desktop, server, phone system, and network infrastructure.

• Install new system software, patches, and utilities, including operating systems, on servers and desktop computer systems.
• Maintain and support Microsoft Active Directory environment with Windows and Macintosh clients.
• Document system functions and changes and monitor critical systems.
• Maintain and support internal networking infrastructure and regional telephone systems.
• Create and maintain documentation of IT related infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
• Provide Backup-Restore/Archive-Retrieval/Disaster-Recovery tasks.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors.
• Ability to recognize and act on appropriate business priorities.
• Ability to understand and terminate Cat 6 and Telephone wiring.
• Coordinate and meet schedules, assignments, and time lines.
• Interpret plans and specifications; ability to brainstorm present and future needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s Degree in Network Systems, Computer Science and/or related field or work experience is required.
• Any combination of education or experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential elements of the job.
• Requirements include strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, as well as network topologies and protocols such as physical wiring, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, wireless, and related hardware.
• Experience with backup/restore and archive retrieval a must. Strong knowledge of MAD, Windows Servers, VoIP telephone systems, and current Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud suites.
• Experience with backup/restore, archive retrieval, and disaster recovery methodologies
