What you will be doing:

Designs and implements the Laboratories internal data communications systems, including local-area networks (LANs) and/or wide-area networks (WANs). A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of specialized area plus working knowledge of other related fields. Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Contributes to the development of organization’s goals and objectives. Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

Performance Shall Include:

o Network Engineering: support router patching and maintenance, monitor network performance, provide solutions where needed to help improve network performance.

o Plans, designs, and implements networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, bridges, concentrators, and switches.

o Works on project implementation.

o Provides training and assists with proposal writing.

o Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.

Educational Requirements:

o Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements:

· Top Secret/SCI or Q clearance required.

· Cisco experience.

· High level encryption experience.

· LLNA/LLNP certification

· Ability to stand for long periods of time, able to lift 40 lbs.

Other Requirements:

· This position requires a Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New‐Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new‐employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

COVID Vaccine:

· The COVID vaccine is mandatory for all Laboratory employees, on‐site contractors, and on‐site subcontractors unless granted an accommodation under applicable state or federal law. This requirement will apply to those working on‐site, those teleworking, and all new hires.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,431.00 - $81,958.00 per year
