Terms of Employment:
12 months/ 234 days per year. Salary is at the Administrative Management Pay Plan AM4 on the EISD Compensation Plan on a term or probationary contract, as applicable. Annual salary range is $55,542 -$66,917 based upon directly related experience.
Primary Purpose:
To maintain EISD’s network infrastructure
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma required
Associates Degree equivalent/Network Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of common network topologies
- Knowledge of wired and wireless networking
- Knowledge of network systems, protocols, and processes
- Knowledge of switch technology
- Knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, and procedures.
- Skill in complex problem solving
- Must have an attention to detail
- Skill in communicating effectively with others.
- Skill in working with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printers.
- Skill in working with computer tools, including but not limited to, email, internet, word processing and spreadsheets.
- Skill in working in collaborative team-based environments.
- Skill in maintaining confidential information
Experience:
- Installing switches and applying configurations
- Network tracing (wire to switch)
- VLAN assigning
- Switch management
- Access point management
- Updating switches
- Troubleshooting and resolving network issues
- Working in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Analyze system functions and failures to isolate and define problem areas.
- Monitor the reachability of all connections within the network adhering to circuit restoral priorities and initiate troubleshooting to restore full network capability.
- Monitor system performance and track usage and develop and deliver a trend analysis of system load, usage, and response
- Perform diagnostic analysis of the network system, identify possible faulty devices, troubleshoot faulty modules, troubleshoot network problems and outages and prepare necessary documentation detailing actions taken
- Provide on-site and telephonic technical services necessary to insure the continuing operation and optimization of the network

Working Conditions:
Flexible duty schedule to include remote working and adjustable hourly availability as determined and coordinated with the Chief Technology Officer and in coherence with district projects and needs. Responsibilities for this position will occur within an indoor office and/or campus environment. The employee will occasionally be required to engage in labor in buildings without air conditioning. The employee must be willing to work in alternative locations and environments as needed.

Prolonged use of computer; work regularly requires work outside the normal work week; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs.
