Intrado is hiring a Network Engineer to join our technology team!

Intrado is responsible for some critical parts of our everyday life. Our solutions are responsible for everything that happens after a 9-1-1 call is placed – call routing, delivery, location determination and data management. Whether you call from a landline, cell phone or text 9-1-1, we make sure first responders get the right information at the right time so they can save lives.

As a Network Engineer with Intrado, you will be Responsible for participating in designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining the network infrastructure while providing quality and efficient network administration support, monitoring the data communications to ensure network is available to all users

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Network Administration - Administer all network resources such as routers, switches, and other network devices in a timely and accurate manner, monitoring communications and proactively detecting and analyzing network incidents

  • Test network enhancements for accuracy and goal achievement prior to implementation
  • Perform network configuration tasks, monitoring implementation and providing support in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide network security by configuring routers, switches, firewalls etc. according to Intrado information security standards
  • Participate in activities associated with assigned projects or project tasks, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and quality manner, striving to meet and exceed client expectations
  • As necessary meet with end user to determine the project scope, providing technical support throughout project stages or in a specific area as assigned
  • May prepare a project calendar to continuously monitor daily tasks and assignments in progress ensuring project schedule is being met and changes are addressed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Create and maintain project files that are well documented and efficiently organized, ensuring files include documentation for each phase of the project which may include project calendar and support documentation detailing project activities, results, implementation, technical reference guide, users guide, etc.
  • Provide project lead with status reports throughout assigned projects detailing project status and timeline
  • Know and support approved corporate and departmental policies relating to business procedures, philosophies, and conduct
  • Keep up to date on industry trends and methodologies for incorporation into the Company's network infrastructure

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements

Experience

  • Minimum three years network infrastructure experience required.

Technical

Based on assigned department or function the following qualifications my either be required or preferred:

  • Hardware: Switches, Routers, CSU/DSU, Firewalls, Terminal Servers
  • Software: Unix, Windows OS, IP Telephony, network management systems, and network analysis
  • Intermediate knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Service Provider MPLS, L2 MPLS is desired
  • Intermediate knowledge of VPN (Virtual Private Network) is preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of F5 hardware and software is desired

Other

  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher is preferred

For candidates located in Colorado, the starting salary range is between $59,000-88,000 a year and will be commiserate with experience.
