Key Objective(s):
The Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for daily network operations, network monitoring, support of the network environment, and troubleshooting network issues. This person will also assist with new network buildouts and implementation projects.
The ideal candidate is flexible and driven, interested in taking initiative and owning their areas of responsibility in a rapidly growing and evolving environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all daily network operations of a 3+ million sq ft. entertainment and retail complex.
- Performs system maintenance, configures equipment, installs software and upgrades, installs patches, and monitors system status.
- Responsible for network monitoring and the network monitoring platforms. Experience with PRTG a plus.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of network basics a MUST. (MAC addresses, VLANs, Spanning-tree, ARP, DHCP, DNS, port-channels etc.).
- Familiarity with and ability to support, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, IOS-XR, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, AnyConnect VPN, Cisco Firepower and FMC.
- Understands and has experience with structured cabling systems, both copper and fiber.
- Copper and fiber optic layer 1 troubleshooting.
- Primary contact for network hardware RMAs and technical assistance center cases (TAC).
- Provide technical support to a wide range of departments on a wide range of issues concerning networking, the development of applications utilizing the network, and IT projects as they relate to the network.
- Develop detailed implementation plans for network changes for change review and approval. ITIL experience a plus.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of installations, migrations, and cutovers of network hardware, components, and systems.
- Maintains a stable, highly available wireless network supporting internal wireless applications as well as reliable Wi-Fi to guests and staff at American Dream.
- Develop and maintain documentation and effective network diagrams.
- Work in a structured environment with change processes and notification procedures.
- Participates in an after-hours on-call rotation and support as needed.
- Works with minimal direction and supervision, takes initiative, makes time for unplanned assignments and adapts to changing priorities.
- Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance.
- 3+ years of networking experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Cisco Certifications a plus. (CCNA, CCNP, etc.).
