NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (IT Systems Management):

THIS IS A NON-REMOTE POSITION

  • Provides network administration and planning for the Beaufort County Government technology network infrastructure, to include network wireless and routing/switching equipment network appliance servers, and software applications.
  • Implements, maintains and provides support for computer networks, Cisco Meraki and Network systems and related components.
  • Works as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
  • Applies base configuration to network equipment to ensure standardization.
  • Maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems within the County.
  • Assists in evaluating, testing, and deploying hardware and software upgrades/updates to the networking infrastructure.
  • Assists in the administration, installation, and troubleshooting of a variety of operating systems.
  • Proactively monitors all network devices, services, and network operation servers.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans.
  • Schedules, installs, and tests system firmware upgrades.
  • Configures software and resolves technical problems.
  • Provides on-call support during non-business hours on a rotating basis.
  • Performs network auditing, hardening, and monitoring.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must possess one or more industry certifications from providers such as Microsoft, Comptia, or Cisco. Certified Network Professional (CCNA). Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in support of an enterprise network environment including, Vlans, switching, VOIP server support and routing.
  • Strong background in the installation, layout, and maintenance of network components.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network principles and practices, including items such as Cisco Meraki, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco IOS (required), TCP/IP, Vlans, switching, ACLs, Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA center, VxLAN, routing and routing protocols, security, fiber technology, and firewalls.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of network routing and design principles.

Salary: $67,109 to $85,718 / DOQ

Position Open Until March 31, 2023

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.

Pay: $49,146.00 - $62,986.00 per year
