Job Summary
:

This position also serves as an ambassador for guest service and resort knowledge. The Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision and management of 20-25 Mountain Safety Attendants, ensuring proper coverage on the mountain and managing both guest and employee safety issues.


Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $22 / hour
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time
  • Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced


Job Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and maintaining the highest levels of guest safety while skiing/boarding and standing at on mountain stations, on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Enforcing the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort policies with guests and employees in a professional friendly manner, including revocation of lift tickets or passes and instructing guests and employees on appropriate behavior.
  • Answering guest questions regarding terrain, directions, and other resort/town information in a professional friendly manner.
  • Placing and monitoring signage in various on-mountain areas.
  • Checking trails for safety hazards, placing ropes and packing or shoveling snow.
  • Lifting equipment which may include baffles, signage, padding, and/or toboggans.
  • Assisting guests to their feet and/or to descend the mountain
  • Ensuring safety infraction cards are retrieved each day, enter warnings and/or suspensions into the RPOS system, and department spreadsheet on a daily basis.
  • Creating staff schedules.
  • Assisting with administrative needs of the department.
  • Motivating, training, managing and supporting team members.
  • Collaborating with management and ski patrol in dealing with on-mountain safety issues.


Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
  • Must have excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Must work well in a team, and be comfortable leading said team
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
  • Must be available to work holidays and weekends
  • Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, provide and follow direction, and provide and receive feedback in a professional manner
  • Must pass on-mountain ski/ride test (equivalent to PSIA Level 7)


The budgeted range starts at $22. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
