Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and versatile Motel Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and landscaping operations at our Motel. This position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as managing the upkeep and beautification of the Motel's grounds. Compensation for this position may be higher based on the candidate's licenses and experience in plumbing and electrical work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, fire safety equipment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to guest requests and work orders related to maintenance issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and failures, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to Motel operations.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors for major repairs and projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and warranties.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment failures and prolong the lifespan of assets.
- Plan and execute landscaping and grounds maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, planting, fertilizing, and irrigation system maintenance.
- Ensure that the Motel's grounds are clean, well-groomed, and visually appealing to enhance guest experience.
- Train and supervise maintenance and landscaping staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and front desk, to address maintenance-related concerns and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in motel maintenance and landscaping, making recommendations for improvements to the Motel's infrastructure, systems, and outdoor spaces.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in motel maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems commonly found in motels, including HVAC, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, fire safety equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance, including knowledge of plants, irrigation systems, and outdoor equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Availability to respond to emergency maintenance issues outside of regular working hours.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training in maintenance, engineering, or landscaping are preferred.
Compensation: The Motel recognizes the value of licenses and expertise in plumbing and electrical work, and as such, the pay for the Motel Maintenance Supervisor position may be higher based on the candidate's qualifications and experience in these areas. Individuals possessing relevant licenses and extensive knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems will be considered for enhanced compensation. The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate's qualifications, skills, and demonstrated expertise during the selection process.
