The Raytheon Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Systems Engineer in the Advanced Concepts and Technology (ACT) group.

ACT prioritizes inception and maturation of advanced technology. M&S engineers within ACT collaborate with engineering leads from systems engineering and other disciplines to explore the feasibility and mission-level impact of advances within our EW solutions.

While this role requires a background in M&S, a well-rounded systems engineering background is also needed in performing a variety of related tasks, to include assisting with CONOPS, trade studies, requirements, test planning, proposals, creating and presenting high-quality material for senior internal organization members and customers, and supporting hardware/software/FPGA development and I&T.

Required Skills:

Minimum 8 years related systems engineering experience in EW or Radar programs including prior leadership experience.

Radar/EW modeling and simulation experience.

Extensive experience in MATLAB for characterizing sub systems.

Excellent Knowledge of RF/Microwave principles.

Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to subcontractors, senior level executives and customers.

Must Have Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance.

Occasional business travel is required.

Desired Skills:

Prior leadership experience with cross product teams to resolve challenging technical problems in a complex multiple stakeholder environment.

Experience with modeling tools such as AFSIM and ESAMS.

Knowledge of open systems architectures and digital engineering.

Deep understanding of the underlying phenomenology of RF Hardware and Digital Signal Processing.

Familiarity with embedded software design and digital design of FPGAs and/or ASICs.

Signal processing development, modeling, and test.

Top Secret security clearance and Special Access – SAP/SAR.
