The Maintenance Planner and Inventory Control Specialist will safely and efficiently plan, coordinate, and control implementation maintenance activities in an underground mining environment. The specialist will prioritize and schedule maintenance activities, recommend equipment replacement, track work order and job report status, and maintain CMMS. Duties are performed above and below ground.

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Planner and Inventory Control Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Mine Superintendent

SCHEDULE: Wednesday-Sunday.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintenance scheduling and creating work orders
• Improving maintenance management systems
• Creating predictive, emergency, and preventive maintenance schedules
• Ensuring optimal maintenance performance and workforce productivity
• Determine and maintain component inventory levels
• Working with maintenance managers and engineers to develop more cost-effective repair solutions and lower overall maintenance costs
• Developing manuals for technicians and mechanics

• Schedule repair or replacement of damaged and defective plant equipment

• Prioritize safety issues with equipment to the highest level

• Make recommendations for the selection of new equipment
• Follow all regulatory laws, internal policies and procedures

• Report and correct unsafe conditions immediately
• Assist in health and safety reporting

• Other Duties as Assigned

PREFERED EXPERIENCE

• Crushing systems

• Mining conveyor systems
• Industrial maintenance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB:

• Traverse uneven rocky surfaces weekly
• Ascend and descend step 24% grades frequently
• Climb ladders and steep stairs

• Position body to move under and over equipment of various heights weekly
• Use radio as primary means of communication to understand or convey safety alarms and work instructions
• Don and wear PPE including a SCSR
• Work in confined areas

• Work in changing weather conditions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced, Challenging Environment with little supervision

PREFER:

• 2 Years CMMS experience
