Innocademy Zeeland is a small school with a family feel looking for talented teachers to guide students to develop the capacity, knowledge, and cultural competence to be actively engaged stewards in their communities and beyond. We are a Y5 through 8th Grade Academy where teachers can be themselves and have a say in how the Academy operates by having teacher-led responsibility teams that cover varying topics from curriculum to family engagement. We create an engaging, flexible, individualized learning environment where creative team members flourish, and students grow academically. How do we do this you might ask? By embracing innovation, small class sizes, daily Spanish instruction, integrated nature-based activities, and a balanced calendar.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with IEPs, lead IEPs (initial and re-eval)
- Communicate and coordinate with contracted ancillary service providers and the local ISD.
- Teach approved curriculum in engaging ways to stimulate students’ interest in and broaden their understanding of a global environment.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals and develop strategies for individual education plans.
Qualifications:
Michigan teaching certificate with Spanish endorsement.
