Innovation Montessori Ocoee is looking for an experienced and certified 5-9 or 6-12 math teacher eager to co-teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra I Honors. The successful candidate must be familiar with the books “Building Thinking Classrooms” and "Grading for Equity" and/or be willing to read and implement the methodologies into the classroom. Our teachers are a strong and collaborative team dedicated to providing the best academic instruction and social emotional support to our students. We participate in project-based learning and follow Montessori educational pedagogy - self-directed and empowered learners are our goal. We practice Restorative Justice.

Further expectations of the position (list not meant to be exhaustive):

• Familiarity with Desmos Curriculum.
• Teach math in a collaborative and engaging manner.
• Co-teach with other subject teachers to incorporate interdisciplinary thinking and problem-solving skills into lesson plans.
• Utilize the "Building Thinking Classrooms" approach to create an environment that promotes student-led inquiry, discussion, and exploration.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development courses/seminars, summer planning days, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
• Foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and academic excellence within the classroom and beyond.

- Please keep in mind that our school is a Charter Public Montessori school and a Florida State Teaching Certificate or FDOE Statement of Eligibility is required to be hired as a lead teacher. You must also engage in a 2-year Montessori training program.

- This job is contingent on further reference checks by IMO, along with background check, fingerprinting for a teacher through OCPS.

We pay on par with OCPS.

We do not participate in FRS.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $48,400.00 - $76,608.00 per year
