TheMetrology AutomationCo-op will be responsible for helping to design metrology processes for new launch vehicles as Plant Spartanburg enters the era of vehicle electrification. This position works closely with Body Shop Production and Total Vehicle Quality to define Plant Standards. The student will be exposed to the entire manufacturing process from the beginning to final shipment to customer. Students have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the entire BMW Group.
The qualified co-op should expect to contribute improve in the following functions:
- Manage and steer assigned projects.
- Help to integrate new launch vehicles into production through process design.
- Design measurement processes for automated robot cells.
- Working with a team to do root-cause analysis on technical solutions.
- Support process engineers in improving product knowledge across the team.
- Design measurement processes and programs.
- New vehicle integration projects.
- Pursuing a degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- Interest in utilizing statistical tools to analyze large data sets (preferred).
- Writing code or Metrology experience (preferred).
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for co-op positions.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 8th, 2023 to August 11th, 2023.
