Merchandising Assistant
Reporting to the Director of Merchandising, you will become a collaborative player in our merchandising team and processes, supporting our omni-channel styling direction for our selling channels. You will support the merchandising activities through organization and management of samples, coordinating with other departments such as production and creative, and by participating in the building of seasonal product assortments and campaign story telling. You will also support on analytics and reporting. You will be managing multiple tasks to help bring our strategies to reality, with an appreciation of the Filson customer and understanding their expectations. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Seattle.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives samples from product development and vendors and seeks approval from design and merchandising teams, ensuring samples are returned following approvals
• Organizes merchandising creative assets, including samples to ensure they are adequately tracked, monitored and returned
• Coordinates with marketing and creative teams to provide product imagery and in relaying omni-channel merchandising priorities for photo shoots and creative assets
• Assist merchandising team on the various components of the merchandising framework
• Build out line and buy sheets and runs various analytics and reporting
• Supports wider merchandising team during seasonal product assortments and campaign reviews, by building out visual boards and stories
• Participates in product assortment processes to determine seasonal or campaign strategies
• Manages sample photography for internal reporting and builds product management files
• Maintains product photo library for building out product matrix's
• Manages vendor setup and maintenance for quality control and invoicing
• Assists in the delivery of floor sets, visual presentation standards and best practices aligned to brand expectations
• Identifies opportunities to streamline activities and improve efficiencies
• Provides general organizational support to the wider merchandising team
• Carries out research and collates finding and presentations
• Manage merchandising calendars and coordination of activities

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years experience in an apparel buying, merchandising, production or design role; Multi store experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience working with excel and strong reporting and analytical skills
• Knowledge of the merchandising process
• Strong coordination and organization skills
• Ability to multitask and balance immediate and long-term priorities, and manage shifting priorities
• Possess a strong sense of urgency along with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, building strong working relationships with cross functional teams
• Self-motivated and detail oriented
• Proficient in Excel, Power Point, and Word
