NCW Staffing is looking for a Mental Health Technician for a 13-week assignment with Quail Run Behavioral Health in Phoenix, AZ

MHT Details:

Number of Positions: 3

13 Weeks Start Date: 2-4 weeks

HT Qualification Requirements:

• Must have current Valid State Drivers License with appropriate Endorsements
• No experience are welcome
• High School diploma or GED preferred. Experience in a residential setting is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Behavioral Heath Tech functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, & role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. BHT'S work under the direction of a RN. CPR certification upon hire. Successful completion of Handle with Care including restraint & seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, & prior to assisting in restraining procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES I. Knowledge of all code procedures. 2.Knowledge of personal hygiene training techniques. 3.Knowledge of psychiatric care techniques. 4.Knowledge of aggressive behavior management techniques. 5.Knowledge & training in CPR/First Aid. 6.Knowledge of admitting procedures. 7.Knowledge of intake calls. 8.Skill in organizing & prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines. 9.Skill in telephone, radio etiquette, & paging procedures. 10. Effective oral & written communication skills. 1 I. Ability to communicate effectively with patients & co-workers. 12. Ability to adhere to safety policies & procedures. 13. Ability to use good judgment & to maintain confidentiality of information. 14. Ability to practice Therapeutic Boundaries. 15. Ability to work as a team player. 16. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience & dedication. 17. Ability to accept direction & adhere to policies & procedures. 18. Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult & geriatric). 19. Ability to participate in all aspects of patient care management. 20. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 21. Ability to meet corporate deadlines for trainings. 22. Ability to react calmly & effectively in emergency situations. PHYSICAL, MENTAL, & SPECIAL DEMANDS 1. Ability to st& sit or walk up to six hours, sit for up to two hours. 2. Ability to move frequently is required in the delivery of patient care. 3. Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of patient charts & for demonstrating activities or assisting patients in activities. 4. Ability to spend 20% of the workday outdoors in temperatures varying form 30°-110°F & 80% of the work day indoors in temperatures varying from 60°-85°F. 5. Ability to occasionally push/ pull wheeled carts from 200 lbs. (i.e. crash cart, EKG machines, patient in wheelchair) 6. Ability to frequently lift & carry up to 10 lbs. (i.e. juices, charts, patient's belongings) & occasionally lift & carry up to 100 lbs. (A patient). 7. Ability to frequently reach above, at or below shoulder height (obtains supplies, reach in cabinets, use refrigerator), kneel, bend, stoop, turn, twist. 8. Ability to frequently Handle, through gross & fine manipulations, simple grasping, twisting & fingering of small objects (telephone buttons, thermometers with both h&s). 9. Ability to see well enough to read written material & discern a variety of odors. 10. Ability to occasionally Handle hazardous/infectious waste.

Skills:

Bachelor's degree - Desired CPI - Preferred Per Facility - Highly desired CPR certification - Required Handle with Care - Preferred Per Facility - Highly desired High school diploma or GED - Required Related healthcare experience - Desired: 1 Years

Education:

Education: High school diploma or GED as well as a preferred combination of behavioral health education & work experience totaling 4 years; or an Associate degree plus preferred two years or work experience in healthcare; Bachelor's degree with preferred one year related healthcare experience or a Bachelor's degree in social services or related field May work flexible hours & float to different units depending on the needs of the hospital. Other education & relevant experience will be considered.

MHT Shift:

• 3 MHTs Needed - Night Shift - Locals accepted - 13- weeks

MHT Rate:

• $840/weekly
