About the Program:
The Mental Health Professional will be a part of our Geriatric Transitions Program (GTP). The goal of the GTP is to reduce the length of inpatient stay, stabilize housing, and prevent individuals from being discharged from facilities, losing their residence, or admitted to the hospital, due to their mental illness.

Use your mental health clinical skills to get into the upcoming field of geriatrics. Have a career that encourages you to think outside the box to meet the needs of clients. Work in a multidisciplinary team with little turn over, supportive, fun loving team members. Attend collaborative quarterly retreats focused on team building and work place solutions. Reach out and work with clients in the community, no hospital setting, no on call or weekend schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Completing assessments of older adults (60 years or older) with mental health and physical health problems and challenging behaviors
• Assisting with development of positive support plans, counseling and caregiver training to resolve conflicts and stabilize their living situations.
• Provide consultation and training to residential provider staff to create and or stabilize successful community placements.
• Coordinate client treatment and effective supports with client’s prescriber and others involved in client’s care
• Provides services and treatment in accordance with the evidence-based practice recovery model, and document the same.
• Consults clinical staff and medication management services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)

• Education:
• Master’s degree or further advanced degree in counseling or one of the social sciences
• Experience:
• Two years of applicable experience in supervised direct treatment of person with mental illness/or developmental disabilities, or a Mental Health Professional (MHP) with significant career related experience working towards hours of completion for MHP status.
• Other Considerations:
• Mental Health Professional (MHP)
• DSHS background clearance
• WA State driver’s license and personal vehicle
• Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of practice

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
