RESPONSIBILITES
The Medication Assistant is responsible for performing routine treatments, medication pass and related tasks necessary to maintain the medication pass system according to policies, procedures and standards.

  • Administering medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician
  • Assist nursing staff in performing resident care and activities of daily living including but not limited to: blood glucose testing, blood pressures, physical hygiene needs of residents and performing other duties as assigned
  • Maintaining thorough electronic resident record in accordance with safety guidelines and providing social and emotional support to residents and resident families

QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Current Wisconsin certificate as a Nursing Assistant and graduate of an accredited medication aide course
  • Ability to handle crisis intervention situations as directed by care plan, facility protocol, resident rights etc .
  • Ability to administer medications to elderly confused and emotionally upset residents in a safe and mature manner and ability to accurately document this activity.
  • Basic level of computer proficiency, medical terminology and understanding of concept of comprehensive nursing care for a diversified population

Pay: $19.00 - $23.05 per hour
