Medical Technologist/Technician- Laboratory Services
Job description
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Or Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician (MLT) independently perform clinical laboratory procedures in all areas of the laboratory including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology and microbiology. MLSs and MLTs use their expertise to accurately interpret, document, and report out test results to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. By performing quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting they verify the analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and reference ranges for test methods. They routinely communicate professionally with colleagues, providers and other team members and serve as a resource for lab based questions. They are an integral part of the patient care team, supporting effective and efficient diagnosis and treatment.
Credential/Licensure Required:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP)
- Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP)
- Eligibility for certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency
The Medical Technologist (MT) must be certified or eligible. Must obtain certification within one year of hire.
Education:
- Diploma
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, human sciences or education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements.
Shifts Available: Variable shifts, working 30-40 hours a week (can be flexible). The PM shift differential is 10% and Night shift differential is 17% of hourly rate of pay.
