Licensed Social Worker in the State of Maine required, LCSW
Southern Maine Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Medical Social Worker to join the passionate and dedicated care team!
This per-diem role is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are looking to supplement their current position, private practice, or in search of a flexible schedule!
The per diem Medical Social Worker is needed to provide coverage of current staff vacation and leave. Must have flexibility to cover consecutive week days.
Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) is a national award-winning healthcare system, with an acute care medical center in Biddeford, Maine licensed for 150 beds, and 24/7 emergency room services in both Biddeford and Sanford.
The Medical Social Worker plans, organizes and initiates the social work needs of the inpatient population and their families to assure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the patient are addressed to support discharge planning and coordination.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Licensed Social Worker in the State of Maine required, LSW, LMSW, LMSWcc.
- Bachelor's degree in Social work or similar field preferred.
- Experience working with patients and families with a range of ages and social needs preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of community resources and an ability to manage and oversee many details required.
- Knowledge of Medicare and MaineCare Regulations helpful.
