MEDICAL BILLER/ AR SPECIALIST

Pain Solutions Management Group is looking for an experienced Medical Biller to join our team. This position is for someone detail oriented and enjoys working both independently and as a team.

The ideal candidate has working knowledge of Pain / Anesthesia and Behavioral Health Medical Billing and Coding with a proven work history of scrubbing claims prior to submission. Additional responsibilities include AR follow-up on accounts receivable, strong worker’s compensation and self-pay follow-up (experience preferred). Knowledge of payer policies and appeal processes are also necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Review claims and work charge edits for each client daily
• In depth understanding of Payor rules
• Self-directed, strong experience with denials and unpaid claims
• Review unbilled reports daily and verify any outstanding claims that should be billed to insurance
• Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude towards patients, co-workers, and clients by conducting oneself in a professional and courteous manner, to promote a harmonious work environment
• Communicate effectively when answering all patient billing questions, office staff questions, and insurance companies regarding patient’s claims, demographics, and charge entry procedures to assure efficient capture of revenue for all services rendered
• Demonstrate an ability to recognize problems that might affect the ability to capture reimbursement for services rendered
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA Policies and Procedures
• Perform any additional duties and projects as required
• Demonstrate effective, professional verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate strong computer skills with Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Pain Management and Anesthesia billing experience recommended
• Behavioral Health billing experience a plus
• High school graduate/equivalent or higher
• Certified biller or coder preferred
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10— CM coding/Certification
• Worker’s compensation experience preferred
• Strong medical insurance background
• Strong EMR and computer experience
• Ability to work with clients and staff as a team member
