Assist in client drug and alcohol compliant program by collecting urine drug specimens and performing breath alcohol testing.
Drug and alcohol collections are scheduled for pre-hire employees and pre-selected randomized program participants.
Typically, the schedule is 4 hours/week for a minimum of four (4) hours scheduled per each assignment.
Flexibility is required but possible to schedule in advance.
Medical assistant acting as collector will have clinical support from nurse manager and consulting medical director.
Location: Monroe, North Carolina.
Work Schedule: Monthly, as needed, onsite at the Monroe, NC facility. Minimum four (4) hours scheduled per each assignment. Typically, 4 hours/week.
Responsibilities:- Perform testing such as vital signs and drug and alcohol testing
- Perform drug and alcohol testing as per company policy and DOT/FAA regulations, as applicable strength, etc.) within scope of practice
- Calibrates medical equipment to ensure compliance
- Education and Experience
- CMA certification
- First-Aid CPR & AED certifications
- Certified in DOT Drug and Alcohol testing
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.
- Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.

- Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Computer Skills
- Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
- Physical Demands
- Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching could be required.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Work Environment
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good and temperature is controlled.
