Pediatric Medical Assistant:

Family-owned Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center located in Dania Beach. We specialize in providing skilled nursing care for medically fragile children from birth through the age of 21.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant, who is dependable, organized, devote and passionate about making a difference in these family's lives.

Job Requirements:

• Have one (1) year experience in the care of infants and toddlers
• Employment references documenting skill in the care of infants or children
• Current BLS Certificate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care through an electronic or paper environment
• Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Keeping a clean, safe and organized work environment for patients and staff.
• Having the knowledge and awareness of medications and supplies on crash cart.
• Attending any necessary meetings to be up to date on changes in protocol and procedures
• Assist with patient feeding
• Accompany patients to doctors office, facility, and home
• Report to designated Registered Nurse any specific patient/family issues, signs and symptoms, concerns or problems requiring further assessment, communication, or intervention.
• Assist nursing team in the delivery of routine childcare activities.
• Assist with management of specialized patient care, i.e., child in isolation, as assigned.
• Assists in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) (personal hygiene, eating and meal preparation, dressing, elimination.)
• Assists with cleaning of beds, highchairs, swings, tables, plastic mats etc., daily and/or between children.
• Accepts childcare assignments and possible maintenance duties or discusses problems/concerns with Director of Nursing.
• Maintains transportation logs, phone logs in reference to transportation issues.
• Assisting the nurses in emergency situations.
